OUR HISTORY

For more than 70 years, Macon-Trousdale Farmers Cooperative has proudly served the communities of North Middle Tennessee as a locally owned, farmer-focused cooperative. With locations in Lafayette and Hartsville, we have grown alongside the farmers, families, and businesses who rely on us every day.

Trousdale Farmers Co-op was established on July 6, 1946, originally located on White Oak Street in Hartsville. After a fire in 1970, the store relocated to East Main Street before moving to its current home at 225 W. McMurry Blvd. in 2006.

Macon Farmers Co-op was established on February 23, 1949, and has remained at its original location at 905 Scottsville Road in Lafayette, Tennessee, even through years of growth and expansion.

In 1971, the boards of both cooperatives recognized that joining together would create a stronger future for their members and communities. After months of planning, the two organizations officially merged to become Macon-Trousdale Farmers Cooperative. More than 50 years later, that partnership continues to thrive.

What began as a modest farm supply store offering fertilizer, feed, seed, and basic agricultural products has evolved into a trusted destination for farm, home, lawn, and outdoor needs. Today, we carry a wide range of products including STIHL power equipment, Exmark zero-turn mowers, tires and batteries, livestock supplies, lawn and garden products, pet feed and supplies, Ariat and Muck Boots, Costa sunglasses, WeatherTech accessories, hunting products, farm toys, and much more.

While we continue to grow and expand our product offerings, we remain committed to our roots as a dependable one-stop farm supply store for local farmers and rural communities.

At Macon-Trousdale Farmers Cooperative, we take pride not only in the products we offer, but also in the service and expertise behind them. Our knowledgeable team is here to help provide answers, solutions, and support for your farm and home needs. And through our partnership with Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, our patrons are connected to a larger cooperative network that allows us to source additional products and resources when needed.
